The Dash

My bro sent me an e-mail this morning and attached was this link,
And even though I have seen this poem many times before, It get's me everytime.

It's very inspirational.

Dash, A poem by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end
He noted that first came her date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life’s actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

My Crazy Guy

Last night hubby and I were watching "The Family Guy". I started to fall asleep but I informed him that I was craving some attention. NOOOOOO PERVERTS, NOT LIKE THAT!!! I'm talking about innocent, kind affection like a hug or a sweet kissie. So as he lay next to me, he began to lovingly touch my face and stroke my hair. I closed my eyes and was about to fall asleep when I hear him say (in the silliest voice), "Would you like some ice cream from my ice cream truck? Tata-tataa-tataa-tataa..." I, ofcourse, started LMAO!!!!! He sounded just like the creepy old guy from "The Family Guy"!

Thanks hun, I was STILL laughing thinking about it this morning...:)
Love you!

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July in Snyder, TX (home of the White Buffalo). We stayed with my in-laws (the most awesome people in town) and every morning we woke up to the aroma of my mother in-laws cooking. Let's see...we had flour tortillas, briskett, eggs, frijoles, papas, chile...she even added porkchops the last morning we were there!!! Sooooo YUMMY! I love being out in the coutry. It is so relaxing and beautiful. Ethan enjoyed seeing all his cousins there and playing in dirt all day long. We got to see Ms. Shelby in a parade and then later went to the park/carnival to see the fireworks. We ofcourse continued to pig out and enjoyed sausages on the stick, briskett nachos and a fajita burrito. Oh, and I almost forgot the late night burritos and chimichangas (Chimi-charrangas) from Allsups (Like a 7-11). They were the BOMB! Yes, I'm paying for it now but we had a great time. Can't wait to go back!
